Grand House in Chelsea
Main Contractor: LTS Refurbishment
Architect: Timothy Hatton Architects
Interior Design: NH Design
This highly prestigious project is a 15,000 Sq Ft Grade 2* listed building sitting in a one acre site in Chelsea, London. The project was a total refurbishment of the 18th Century building and a fit-out of the new West Wing incorporating a Swimming Pool Hall, Gym and Leisure Facilities.
We produced all custom made furniture for the house which included 8 bathrooms, 3 kitchens, dressing and dining room, Study, Drawing and Ante room. We worked in a extraordinary variety of materials and finishes as European oak, Mahogany, European and American walnut, bog oak,Trompe l’oeil.
Such a grand project deserved luxurious fittings and only the finest materials. We incorporated Molianos for most of the bathrooms with carved shower trays and blind UV bonded shower surrounds, as well as basalt for the kitchen worktops, including a carved sink. We covered cabinetry in vellum and pure silk velvet and added bespoke, leather wrapped handles.
The master bathroom was done completely under our control to ensure perfect coordination between all the aspects. We supervised the stone flooring, we lined the shower surround in Arabescato marble. For the bath we used an antique stone with added features and fitted a timber surround with plinth lighting. The exquisitely trimmed dressing unit was complimented with two bronze and glass wall cases and a vanity unit.
We used painted mirrors to the master bedroom cupboards and fitted glass tiles and cedar to the sauna. We also fabricated a bronze table and bathroom cupboards and had radiator grilles cast in gilding metal. All kitchens were fitted with fully integrated appliances from Gaggenau, Miele and Sub-Zero.
