After completing several projects for our long-standing client, we were commissioned to create their dream kitchen. The heart of the home, this space needed to be practical for a young family and provide a sense of luxury and sophistication for entertaining. The design required subtle French design influences to complement the beautiful Lacanche chemin range cooker. Contemporary features including the concealed bar, were to be integrated seamlessly.

Our client has extensive knowledge and experience with stone selection, so this element of the kitchen was particularly important. We explored numerous Italian quarries searching for the perfect Marble. Eventually we found a block of Calacatta Oro Borghini, which our client loved. The marble forms a perfect book match for the range cooker space and the veins on the island flow flawlessly across the vertical and horizontal surfaces, giving the appearance of being hewn from a solid block.

The bespoke banquette seating was exquisitely trimmed with Marci mohair velvet by the Yarn Collective, providing seating for large dinner parties and so comfortable that guests won’t want to leave.

The bar lighting was combined with antique mirror, which requires the perfect depth and angle, to provide a gentle light source hidden from view to prevent unwanted reflections.

We have extensive experience with the integration of advanced mechanical and electrical systems. Careful consideration was given to the integration of lighting and a climate control system within the tall cabinetry. Discreet air supply and return vents, acoustic attenuation and simple access for future maintenance are all elements we pay great attention to, for the best performance and minimal impact on daily life.
